XCMG’s First Overseas New Energy Factory Starts Production

August 11, 2026

On July 27, the inauguration ceremony of the XCMG Indonesia New Energy Manufacturing Base was held at the Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP). With its first batch of new energy equipment rolling off the production line and being delivered to strategic partner Tsingshan Industrial Indonesia’s Weda Bay Industrial Park, XCMG’s first overseas new energy factory has officially started operations.

The new manufacturing base integrates complete machine production, application-specific R&D, and localized service capabilities, significantly shortening delivery cycles while providing solutions tailored to Indonesia’s mining, infrastructure, and industrial logistics applications.

The facility is also designed to support Indonesia’s green development. By leveraging localized manufacturing capabilities, XCMG can supply electric construction machinery on a larger scale, helping key industries reduce emissions and improve operational efficiency. The base also includes plans for used equipment recycling and remanufacturing of components, improving resource utilization throughout the equipment lifecycle.

Localization is another key part of the project. Currently, local employees account for nearly 80% of XCMG’s workforce in Indonesia, supporting local employment and the development of skilled technical talent. XCMG has also continued to strengthen its ESG practices and was once again included in the 2026 Fortune China ESG Impact List, remaining the only company from the construction machinery industry on the list.

The first batch of new energy equipment delivered from the factory represents a new model of collaboration between XCMG and Tsingshan Industrial’s Weda Bay Industrial Park, integrating technology with application scenarios and manufacturing with local market demand. From construction to production in a short period, the project demonstrates the potential of cross-industry collaboration in advancing localized manufacturing.

After more than 30 years of development in Indonesia, XCMG has established a comprehensive localized sales and service network, supported by more than 100 professional service vehicles and a three-level spare parts and maintenance system. These resources currently support more than 30,000 XCMG machines operating across Indonesia.

With the new energy manufacturing base now in operation, XCMG Indonesia has further completed its integrated local R&D, manufacturing, supply, sales, and service ecosystem. The locally manufactured new energy equipment is expected to provide stronger support for Indonesia’s green infrastructure development and accelerate the transformation toward cleaner and more sustainable construction.
